NFC..
Hey..
We are a family of four consisting of Kathie and David the parents, and the teen daughters Lucy and Ella Stirling. I, Lucy, along with my mother Kathie, breed norwegian forest cats or NFC's for short and have 2 breeding queens at the moment, They are Sky and Lola (litter sisters) from Landsker Cats who are now 2 and 1/2, We have had 2 litters so far, both born May 09, all the kittens have found their new home's. Go to our past kitten page for more details. We have a litter on the way go to plans for more info.
I guess the reason we chose the amazing NFC breed was due to the love we all have for our neutered rescue Main-Coon (Fluffy).
We started looking at similar breeds in 2007. The two breeds we liked the most of all were Siberian cats and Norwegian Forest cats. NFC is the breed we went for because of what we had learnt and now know and love about the Norwegian cats, from their dog like personalities to their big fluffy paws.
So after deciding on the Norwegian Forest cats and having many conversations with other breeders who were all very helpful, we knew the NFC's were the right breed for us. We then started looking for a queen and found Christine in Wales along with her many beautiful Norwegians and fell in love with a kitten she had advertised whom we later named Sky. We then went to go see Sky and the breed in the flesh and WOW were they gorgeous cats, Sky's father (Tippo) in particular was amazingly beautiful.
But then there was Lola a timid little torte but I thought she was perfect and had potential, although she was a struggle at first, always hiding and rather timid now she's a beauty and the most lovable cat I've ever known and is now the complete opposite of timid. Luckily she's passed her gentleness and lovable traits on to all her kittens. Lola has had the sweetest most friendly kittens.
Sky's kittens were all large and chunky with a large number of boys who are growing into big strong fluffy Norwegians and I believe are a good example of the breed. We have had very positive comments from the kittens new owners. We have sold a few of the kittens locally, so we have been lucky enough to see how they have grown in the flesh.
